We are looking for a Designer with 8+ years of experience in DOT and/or municipal roadway projects. This position will support project teams and manage CAD standards using Bentley based software packages.
The Transmission Planning Consultant at Kimley-Horn will leverage their expertise in electrical transmission planning, regulatory knowledge, permitting, environmental experience, and/ or grid technologies to assess grid performance, prepare for future challenges such as renewable integration, and contribute to decision-making backed by business and engineering analysis. This role involves conducting a wide range of transmission and operational studies and providing consulting services to support clients in making informed decisions. As a Transmission Planning Consultant, you will execute technical studies, collaborate with the team to ensure the successful technical execution of projects, and work to expand our energy practice among new and existing clients.
Kimley-Horn is seeking a Practice Builder/Senior Project Manager to lead and grow our Roadway Design practice in Austin, TX. This position is responsible for complex engineering design tasks as well as marketing, business development, client contact, and the growth of the roadway design practice in the Austin and surrounding markets. Additional activities include managing the design and delivery of projects profitably while being actively involved in design issues, partnership with fellow practice builders, client engagement and overall project over site. With success, this individual will enjoy the rewards of performance based bonus incentives with the opportunity to advance to ownership. Requirements: • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering • Licensed Civil Engineer in the State of TX• Experience successfully winning and delivering work in the Austin area. • Knowledge and experience with the full life cycle of roadway projects from studies to environmental to PS&E or final design packages and general knowledge of construction. • Extensive knowledge of geometric design, horizontal and vertical alignment, grading, drainage, utility, or other related design issues. • Established relationships with local agencies, and/or local municipalities.• At least 10 years of experience leading civil design of local roadways, urban freeways and/or interchanges.• Demonstrated ability to manage roadway projects profitably, while leading a team and collaborating key stakeholders • Experience writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected work.
