Kimley-Horn is seeking a Practice Builder/Senior Project Manager to lead and grow our Roadway Design practice in Austin, TX. This position is responsible for complex engineering design tasks as well as marketing, business development, client contact, and the growth of the roadway design practice in the Austin and surrounding markets. Additional activities include managing the design and delivery of projects profitably while being actively involved in design issues, partnership with fellow practice builders, client engagement and overall project over site. Requirements: • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering • Licensed Civil Engineer in the State of TX• Experience successfully winning and delivering work in the Austin area. • Knowledge and experience with the full life cycle of roadway projects from studies to environmental to PS&E or final design packages and general knowledge of construction. • Extensive knowledge of geometric design, horizontal and vertical alignment, grading, drainage, utility, or other related design issues. • Established relationships with local agencies, and/or local municipalities.• At least 10 years of experience leading civil design of local roadways, urban freeways and/or interchanges.• Demonstrated ability to manage roadway projects profitably, while leading a team and collaborating key stakeholders • Experience writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected work.
Kimley-Horn is seeking an experienced Transit Design EIT or recent PE with 1 or more years’ experience to join our Transportation team in North Austin, TX. The selected candidate will contribute to the production and delivery of a variety of transit related and Capital Metro designs. The candidate must be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation. Experience with projects on municipal roadway design, light rail, streetcar, bus and other public transportation design would be ideal. Our Development Services team our new Georgetown office is looking for a Senior Project Manager to manage Land Development engineering projects.
Kimley-Horn is responsible for the complete staffing of the City of Austin’s Mobility Management Center (MMC) during weekdays, weekends, and special events. The Kimley-Horn team oversees the operations of approximately 1100 traffic signals using the City’s ATMS, traffic cameras, and dynamic message signs (DMS). In addition to adjusting operations daily to changing traffic conditions, MMC staff manage over 100 special events across the City each year including South by Southwest Conference and Festival, Austin City Limits Music Festival, University of Texas football games, Austin FC soccer matches, Grand Prix races at Circuit of the Americas, and many more. The MMC serves as a data visualization and analysis hub for the Austin Transportation Department and specializes in turning big data into usable insight. The MMC uses signal performance measures (SPMs) and crowd-sourced data to identify issues and trends in the City’s transportation network to which the then recommend and implement countermeasures and solutions.
