Kimley-Horn, one of Fortune Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For,” is looking for a Civil Engineer with 6 or more years of experience to join our growing Transportation team in Philadelphia, PA!The candidate will develop concepts, preliminary engineering and final design for projects. Tasks include but are not limited to; developing geometric alignments, profiles, modeling, design sections, grading design, drainage, super elevation, construction details, work zone traffic control, and signing and striping plans. In addition, this role will assist in managing projects.Required- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering- P.E. License in Pennsylvania- 6 or more years of experience with transportation, traffic, and roadway design- Working knowledge of PennDOT design standards and specifications- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external partners including clients, sub consultants, and utility companies- Experience preparing final design plans, specifications and construction cost estimates- Good problem solving and technical writing skills- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Synchro, and/or MicroStation drafting and design- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and ExcelDesired• PennDOT prequalificationsApplicants must be legally authorized to work for Kimley-Horn in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. Position Description:Our Philadelphia, PA office is seeking a Civil Engineer to work on Land Development engineering projects. Candidates should have experience with site civil design and permitting and applicable software applications including hydrology modeling programs, storm drainage programs, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D. Projects will include a variety of land development site designs. In addition to strong technical experience, other responsibilities will include research, coordination, project management, staff management, cost estimating, permitting for land disturbance and preparation of bid packages as well as technical specifications.Position Requirements:- BS degree in Civil Engineering- EIT with the ability to obtain PE License - 4+ years of relevant land development engineering experience - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills - Outstanding organizational skills- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team - Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3DDesired Qualifications:- Experience with detail site layout and grading; drainage and stormwater management design; utility design; and erosion and sediment control design- Experience with StormCAD, Hydroflow, ICPR and other industry accepted software and development of hydrology studies- Experience with codes and regulations, interpreting plans, designing stormwater facilities, site grading and permitting for land disturbance
