Kimley-Horn is currently seeking a Site Civil Engineer and Project Manager in support of several large, mixed-use projects. The position will be located in Kimley-Horn Princeton, NJ office. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and qualified individual with a proven track record of design and construction experience in a variety of private and public land development and capital improvement projects in Princeton and surrounding areas. Individual will be responsible for all aspects of project design for residential, commercial and industrial site development and capital improvement projects including site layout, Conceptual Site Plans, Preliminary Plans of Subdivision, Site Plans, Engineering Construction Documents.Desired Skills and Experience:This person will perform project design duties in coordination with a team of support staff to develop detailed planning documents for construction projects. The ideal candidate will complement the current team by providing additional detailed design and construction experience and by adding project management depth. Must be experienced in technical design and theory for support of department manager and office manager in planning and design of complex projects. Experienced individual must be capable of delivering projects that meet technical requirements on time and within budget. Must have the ability to coordinate project submittals, facilitate regulatory agency approvals, and obtain construction permits. Senior staff is expected to manage design for multiple projects, assist department manager with marketing and proposal efforts and project management duties as well as oversee, train and mentor junior/mid-level staff. Candidates should have the ability to work closely with clients and agency staff, including attendance at public and/or construction meetings and also represent the company at other events as needed. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.•BS degree in Civil Engineering. •PE in the State of New Jersey•8+ years of experience directly related to design and construction of land development projects ideally in the Tri-State area. •Strong computer skills utilizing AutoCAD as well as Microsoft Office software is required.

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager – Electrical (Solar PV) to help us continue to grow our Solar Practice.The Sr. Project Manager – Electrical (Solar PV) will have an entrepreneurial spirit and create a vision for growth for their practice and contribute to the growth of the Solar discipline for markets throughout the country. They will lead the business development effort and manage the relationship with key clients.Markets are not limited by geography but driven by relationships. Leadership responsibilities include: operating with integrity and sound business principals, providing practice vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, building and maintaining positive client relationships, open communication with partners and team, along with growing and directing an Electrical Solar practice.The practice builder will be expected to manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, help recruit, and be a positive role model. Management responsibilities include but are not limited to; meeting or exceeding client expectations, identifying and tracking leads, making presentations, writing proposals and a scope of work, establishing budgets, ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables, and supervising the execution of work.The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business. Accounting, administrative, marketing, recruiting, IT, and production support will be provided. With success, this individual will enjoy the rewards of a performance-based work environment and can advance to ownership.Requirements-Extensive local and national client contacts and relationships, as well as relationships with local jurisdictional staff-Successful track record of winning work-8 or more years of experience. Preferably, primarily in the Solar PB industry.-Business development and marketing experience including; writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected work-Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization-Ability to manage and mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner-Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably- Solar Systems design experience.- Experience with Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) and local utility requirements.- Medium voltage and substation experience preferred but not required. Desired-Ability to cross sell multiple disciplines
