Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate can include but are not limited to:Provide design and technical support for- stormwater system assessment, design projects, and plan development- watershed master planning / modeling- hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to investigate storm drainage issues like watershed restoration and dam safety analyses- preparing engineering and construction cost estimates Provide leadership, project management, and consulting experience by- providing technical oversight / mentorship of junior staff- developing project budgets and scopes of work - creating and tracking project schedules and deadlines- serving as primary point of contact for clients- assisting company leadership with business development activities including recognizing new clients and project opportunities, strategic teaming, proposal construction, and oral presentationsRequirements of a successful candidate include:- A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering (or related degree) - 3+ years of experience in civil engineering, specifically stormwater management- EIT certification required, P.E. licensure in MD preferred (or obtain within 12 months)- Experience with drafting/mapping software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or ArcGIS- Experience with stormwater modeling software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, PCSWMM, etc.) in support of stormwater management design and planning projects - Experience with technical writing and compilation of results from engineering analysesPreferred Experience of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:- Experience in the supervision of the technical work of others- Business development experience including client engagement, participating in interviews, marketing, developing scopes of work, and budgeting.- Experience with the design and implementation of stormwater management systems, including the preparation of detailed design documents and specifications- Experience with floodplain modelling and studies in support of CLOMR/LOMR applications- Understanding of principles of resiliency in the planning and implementation of stormwater infrastructure projects in preparation for rising sea levels and increases in rainfall intensity and durationThe requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. Position Description:Our Baltimore City or County office is seeking a Civil Engineer to work on Land Development engineering projects. Candidates should have experience with site civil design and permitting and applicable software applications including hydrology modeling programs, storm drainage programs, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D. Projects will include a variety of land development site designs. In addition to strong technical experience, other responsibilities will include research, coordination, project management, staff management, cost estimating, permitting for land disturbance and preparation of bid packages as well as technical specifications.Position Requirements:- BS degree in Civil Engineering- PE or EIT- 2+ years of relevant land development engineering experience - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills - Outstanding organizational skills- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team - Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously- High level of proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3DDesired Qualifications:- Experience with detail site layout and grading; drainage and stormwater management design; utility design; and erosion and sediment control design- Experience with StormCAD, Hydroflow, ICPR and other industry accepted software and development of hydrology studies- Experience with codes and regulations, interpreting plans, designing stormwater facilities, site grading and permitting for land disturbance
