This position will support and contribute to the growth of the firm in our infrastructure practices. Candidates should have strong technical and analytical, detailing, communication and interpersonal skills and should be able to develop and maintain good relationships with coworkers, industry peers and clients. This role will manage and lead projects.
Kimley-Horn, one of FORTUNE Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For,” is looking for a CAD Operator to join our Boise, ID team.This position is for a CAD Operator who will use computer drafting techniques to generate plans for structures. Position will require use of AutoCAD and MicroStation to deliver plans for transportation related structures. Candidates needs the ability to communicate and understand written and verbal instructions from engineers. Additional duties include:- Generating rebar lists utilizing Microsoft Excel or other calculation programs.- Providing CAD guidance to new engineers.- Follow QC processes for deliverables, revise drawings based on instructions- Coordination with other disciplines- Stay up to date with CAD software and communicate improvement strategies to team- Meeting deadlines established by team- Review and interpret client CAD manuals- Work with other CAD Operators and designs to interpret client expectationsRequirements:- High school diploma, Associates degree in drafting based discipline preferred.- Experience with AutoCAD as primary CAD software. Experience with MicroStation and Revit a plus.- Knowledge of structural engineering, architecture, or construction preferred.- Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter- Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn- Ability to work independently and with a teamApplicants must be legally authorized to work for Kimley-Horn in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
