Civil Engineer Aviation

Our Charlotte, NC office is looking for a Civil EIT or recent PE with 3+ years of experience to join our Aviation team.

As an Aviation Civil Engineer, you will support the planning, design and construction of airport projects; prepare analyses and reports for on-going projects; prepare plans and specifications; mentor and coordinate the work of analysts and other technical staff and manage and deliver tasks under minimal supervision and guidance.

• Minimum of 3 years of aviation design experience
• Must have EI/EIT Certification or PE License
• An ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in these majors:
• Civil and/or Environmental Engineering
• Familiarity with contract document preparation and cost estimating
• Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circular’s and Engineering Briefs
• Familiarity with pavement design and FAARField Design Software
• Experience with construction phase services and construction phasing and sequencing
• Strong AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
• Familiarity with modeling of aircraft and vehicle turning movement simulations in AeroTURN, AutoTURN, Path Planner, and/or AviPLAN
• Ability to work in a team; both collaborating with and mentoring junior staff
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
