Overview

Our Virginia Beach, VA office is looking for an Electrical Engineer with 4+ years of experience. This position provides an opportunity to work on a variety of aviation, transportation, and renewable projects that will ensure your success and growth in your career. Additionally, you will contribute to the design of major projects from various markets locally and around the country.   

Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities Include:

  • Design of electrical systems for transportation (ITS), aviation, and energy (solar and EV Infrastructure) projects
  • Participate on project teams in an active production role
  • Preparation of project specifications
  • Preparation of electrical construction cost estimates
  • Daily interaction and collaboration on multi-disciplinary teams 
  • Coordination and verification of as-built drawings
  • Perform quality work that meets or exceeds client expectations
  • Responsible for the development of reports and design documents, including electrical floor plans, equipment schematic diagrams, equipment block diagrams, equipment load calculations, and connection diagrams

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications:

    • 4 years of experience in consulting electrical engineering
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (advanced degrees are a plus)
    • EIT required; PE desired
    • Firm understanding of the National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes/standards, and energy codes
    • Proficiency using Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (AutoCAD) is required
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office apps - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. 
    • Building Information Modeling (BIM – Autodesk Revit) experience is a plus
    • Security and communication design experience is a plus
    • Experience in Power Studies, such as Short Circuit Study, Coordination Study, and Arc Flash Analysis (SKM PowerTools), AGI32 is a plus
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
    • The ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively
    • The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
