Kimley-Horn is in search of an Electric Vehicles Practice Builder to market and win work in any of our offices firmwide. The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, will create a vision for growth for their practice and will contribute to the overall growth of the EV practice.

Our Practice Builders have an entrepreneurial spirit, creating a vision for their practice while contributing to the growth of the Electric Vehicles practice nationwide. You will lead the business development efforts with local entities while building and managing your relationship with these key clients. Markets are not limited by geography but driven by relationships. Areas of focus could be Fleet Conversion, Electric Utilities, Municipal EV and Readiness Planning, Transit Agencies, Airports and Seaports, State Agencies and Municipalities, Commercial and Industrial Entities, Commercial Developers, and/or EV Developers. Leadership responsibilities include: operating with integrity and sound business principals; providing practice vision, business planning and strategy; establishing goals; building and maintaining positive client relationships; having open communication with your partners and team; and growing and leading your EV practice.

The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business. With success, this individual will enjoy the rewards of an impressive bonus program with the potential to advance to ownership.


  • Extensive client contacts and relationships with state agencies and/or municipalities, transit agencies, airports, developers, etc.
  • Experience in growing and leading an Electric Vehicles practice
  • Business development and marketing experience including; writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected work.
  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage & mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage EV projects profitably.
