We are looking for a Civil Engineer to join our Transportation Planning and Traffic Operations (TPTO) team in our VA Beach office.

 

Responsibilities

The Traffic Engineer will have an opportunity to work on and deliver a wide variety of transportation planning, traffic engineering, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) projects for many, diverse clients. Typical projects may include traffic operations analyses, safety analyses, traffic impact studies, traffic signal coordination and timing, traffic signal design, transportation planning studies, multimodal transportation planning and design, parking analyses, ITS planning and design, and other transportation projects. The Traffic Engineer will work collaboratively with our growing team of transportation professionals by actively participating in task management, problem solving, marketing, and client interaction. You will have many opportunities for training and growth while also contributing to the growth of our junior-level staff. The Traffic Engineer will be mentored and trained to manage their own projects and develop consulting and business skills to help pursue your own passions, leads, and clients.

Qualifications

 

  • 3+ years of relevant, diversified transportation engineering experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering and design, traffic operations, and/or ITS planning and design
  • BS or MS from an ABET accredited university in the field of Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering
  • Registered P.E. or T.E. (or the ability to obtain within one year) 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment, balance priorities among multiple projects, and effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, CADD, Synchro, and HCS software applications desired
