Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for a Civil Analyst to join our White Plains, New York (1 North Lexington Avenue, Suite 505, White Plains, NY 10601) office. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

Perform traffic engineering and project management tasks to deliver a wide variety of transportation planning, transit, traffic engineering, safety, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) projects for many, diverse clients. Create a vision and contribute to the growth in our well-established transportation practice. Assist with managing projects profitably. Engage in hands-on practice and delivery of projects. Transition work to qualified staff. Act as a positive leader and mentor. Contribute significantly to marketing and business development efforts. Perform a variety of engineering tasks and plan production, project financials, and client interactions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited university in Civil Engineering and four (4) years of experience as a Traffic Engineer, Transportation Engineer, or related role where required experience was gained.
  • Engineer-In-Training" or "Engineering Intern" certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months) to be followed by obtaining PE within 2 years in New Jersey;
  • Four (4) years in traffic engineering consisting of a combination of: preparing and/or reviewing traffic impact studies for public and private projects, preparing parking studies, preparing crash studies, preparing sight distance studies and preparing site access and circulation studies;
  • Municipal and state DOT project requirements and reviewing processes specifically NYC DOT and NYS DOT;
  • Proficiency with the methodologies of Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO);
  • Expertise in using AutoCAD Civil 3D;
  • Expertise in using Synchro and HCS;
  • Developing and refining microsimulation and capacity analysis models to support alternatives analysis, intersection design, and corridor studies;
  • Preparation of traffic management plans (TMPs), Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC) strategies, and detour analyses to ensure safe and efficient work zone operations;
  • Engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles applied to transportation design and analysis; and
  • Coordinating with city, county, and state transportation agencies, clients and internal project teams to support project development.

SALARY: $126,011.25 to $130,000 per year. #DE-BLOCK
