Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for a Payables Specialist to join our Phoenix, Arizona (AZ) office! This is not a remote position.  This role supports accounts payable and employee expense processes for offices across the country. We welcome both entry-level and experienced candidates. 

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver strong internal and external customer service
  • Research and resolve open A/P items and discrepancies
  • Support regional accounting teams with accounts payable activities
  • Answer vendor and employee questions and provide day-to-day support
  • Process vendor and subconsultant invoices, releases, and payment requests
  • Review invoices for accuracy, approvals, sales/use tax, and general ledger coding
  • Participate in check run processing within the A/P team rotation
  • Review and approve employee expenses for compliance with company policy
  • Follow up with employees on missing receipts, unallowable expenses, and report details
  • Serve as backup for team members as needed

Qualifications

  • Two-year accounting degree or relevant experience
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint or similar systems
  • Experience with Navan or similar expense platforms

Schedule: 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Monday–Thursday; 7:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. Friday
