Overview

As a Workers’ Comp and Leave Analyst, you will be responsible for managing employee workers’ compensation cases, leaves of absence, disability, and ADA accommodation requests, with a strong focus on delivering positive and supportive employee experience. You will provide consultative, empathetic guidance to employees, helping them understand their options and feel supported during often complex or sensitive situations. In partnership with HR teams, you will ensure employees requesting leaves and accommodations receive timely, consistent, and people centered support. Acting as the primary point of contact for HR partners across a wide range of leave and accommodation topics, you will help create a seamless, compassionate experience that supports employees throughout their leave and accommodation journey. 

 

This role is based in our Raleigh, North Carolina (NC) office. This is not a remote position. 

Responsibilities

Workers’ Compensation 

  • Manage all aspects of workers’ compensation cases, including claim initiation, communication with carriers, employee support, and documentation. 
  • Partner with Safety, HR, and management teams to ensure timely reporting, follow-up, and compliance with state WC requirements. 
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and escalation point for complex Workers’ Compensation processes. 
  • Run WC-related reporting, trending, and audits; identify opportunities to reduce claim lag and improve processes. 

Leave of Absence, Disability, and ADA Administration 

  • Administer federal, state, and company leave programs, disability claims, and ADA accommodations, ensuring compliance and accurate case management. 
  • Guide employees through the process by clarifying eligibility, documentation needs, pay impacts, and return to work expectations.  
  • Partner with HR, managers, and third-party administrators to coordinate leave cases, evaluate restrictions, and implement reasonable accommodations. 
  • Maintain timely communication and accurate documentation in AbsenceSoft and UKG to ensure smooth, compliant case handling. 

Systems & Reporting (AbsenceSoft, Excel, UKG Pro) 
Serve as the primary system administrator for AbsenceSoft, including case management, reporting, audits, and enhancements. 
Create and maintain complex Excel reports using functions such as VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data validation. 
Partner with HRIS teams to improve workflows and automation across leave and WC processes. 

 

Process Improvement 

  • Evaluate current processes and recommend improvements to create efficiencies, reduce manual touchpoints, and enhance employee experience. 
  • Participate in cross-functional projects, vendor evaluations, and implementation efforts. 

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of related work experience 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication, presentation, and relationship building 
  • Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization 
  • High degree of professionalism with demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations/information and maintain strict confidentiality 
  • Excellent organization, detail-orientation, and follow-through skills as well as the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with limited daily supervision 
  • Exceptional client service mentality and strong work ethic 
  • Experience with Workers’ Compensation preferred 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel; ability and willingness to learn new software applications. Experience with UKG Pro and AbsenceSoft preferred
