Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for a Technology Conference and Event Coordinator to join our firmwide Technology Solutions (KHTS) team! This role will plan and coordinate KHTS’ participation at A/E/C industry conferences and implement marketing activities to generate new business leads and increase awareness of KHTS tools. This is a highly cross-functional role with great opportunity to expand Kimley-Horn’s software business in its next stages of growth.  

 

The ideal candidate will have a mix of conference and event planning, marketing, and communication skills to support assigned conferences and identify, develop, and produce related content for internal and external audiences. You will need to be highly self-motivated and have a passion for providing high-quality support.

 

This is an in-office position. This position is available at a Kimley-Horn office in Dallas, TX; Raleigh, NC; Ashburn, VA, or St. Paul, MN

Responsibilities

  • Work with Kimley-Horn conference attendees to coordinate our engagement and effective attendance at conferences 
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop proposals for speaker presentations, white papers, project awards, and other marketing content 
  • Support or lead product demonstrations and presentations at industry events to generate leads 
  • Write and edit content for social media platforms, award submittals, and other channels as needed 
  • Coordinate event-related needs such as registering conference attendees, ordering promotional giveaways, tracking deadlines, developing marketing materials, data entry, and other department activities, as needed 
  • Work with product marketing and communications partners to promote conference involvement (i.e. speakers, booths, awards) and other marketing activities 
  • Willingness and ability to travel (9-12 times per calendar year)
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, English, Human-Centered Design, or a similar field
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in marketing or event coordination (A/E/C or SaaS industry experience preferred)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple assignments and deadlines concurrently 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with people at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Demonstrated organization, detail orientation, and follow-through skills 
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 
  • Ability to be flexible, including handling last-minute or large-scale requests 
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with limited daily supervision 
  • Exceptional client service mentality, strong work ethic, and take-charge attitude
