Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for Software Engineering students to join our Peachtree Corners, Georgia (GA) office! This is not a remote position. 

Responsibilities

  • Participate as a member of a project team on a variety of Smart City/Future City software products
  • Interested in learning and growing an in-depth knowledge of both software and hardware platforms integrated with the traffic systems including: traffic signal controllers, dynamic message signs, switches, closed circuit television cameras, etc
  • Apply and validation of bug fixes and enhancements to software solutions
  • Collaborate with the team to understand the software requirements
  • Identify and report any defects or bugs found during testing

Qualifications

  • In the process of obtaining an ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelor or Masters) in these majors:
    • Software Engineering
    • Computer Science
    • Systems Engineering
    • or related field of study Familiarity with relational databases such as MS SQL Server or Oracle

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, etc)
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases (Redis, Hadoop, etc)
  • Knowledge of desktop languages and technologies (C#, C++, Go, Web API, WPF, etc)
  • Knowledge of web languages and technologies (Angular, REACT, Tailwinds, SignalR, etc)
  • Knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure environments (Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
  • Familiarity with software development IDEs (Visual Studio, VSCode, etc)
