Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Leader to expand our Waterfront and Marine Structures practice in Long Beach, CA and throughout Southern California!

Responsibilities

  • This position leads business development efforts, manages relationships with key clients, and oversees all project tasks while mentoring the growth of younger staff

  • Has a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business

  • Pursuing opportunities that fuel their professional passion and contribute to Kimley-Horn's success

  • Leadership responsibilities include:

    • Growing and leading a Waterfront and Marine Structures practice

    • Operating with integrity and sound business principles

    • Providing vision, business planning and strategy

    • Establishing goals

    • Building and maintaining positive client relationships

    • Having open communication with your partners and team

    • Focuses on recreational waterfront developments, marinas, piers, seawalls, and port facilities

    • Relevant experience includes design for floating structures, floating wave attenuator and fixed breakwater structures, fixed pier and pile supported wharf structures, vessel mooring and berthing structures, and site utilities.

    • Key roles in past projects including wave/environmental loading analysis, interpretive structural modeling analysis, developing project plans and specifications, regulatory and local agency project permitting, and construction management. 

Qualifications

  • Our Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor

  • With success, this individual will enjoy the rewards of an impressive bonus program with the potential to advance to ownership

  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field, required; Master's Degree preferred

  • At least 15 years of experience managing coastal and waterfront projects

Base Salary Range

  • $180,000 - $255,000
  • Eligible for performance-based bonus compensation
