Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Project Manager to expand our Roadway practice in Orlando, Florida (FL)! #DE-BLOCK
Duties: Design of high and extra-high voltage (69-500kV) transmission lines using PLS-CADD. Prepare construction documents including plan and profile drawings, structure loading trees, and foundation assembly drawings. Prepare specifications and project design criteria. Provide field support during construction. Responsible for technical oversight, quality review, planning, engineering and design of multiple transmission line projects. Develop tools, software or engineering work methods and procedures to improve efficiencies. Perform engineering design, Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) checks, and provide technical training to junior engineers. Review technical proposals, drawings, procedures, internal and client-based standards, bill of materials, plan & profiles, foundation designs, structural steel designs & drawings, constructability designs. Plan and design overhead transmission lines, including right of way requirements, structure spotting, line configurations, hardware requirements, structure alternatives, and foundation options. Independently perform or conduct reviews of engineering analyses, plans and specifications, as well as material procurement and construction documents, and work with project planning, environment, permitting, and construction management. Develop technical specifications, prepare bid documents, and assist clients with bid and evaluation processes, including structure procurement and construction services. Prepare and review design documents for construction, including plan & profiles, structure load tree drawings, structure framing, bill of materials and foundations design drawings.

Main Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or closely related field of study and ten (10) years of experience as a Transmission Line Engineer, or role in civil engineering design firm where required experience gained. Professional Engineering (P.E.) License Required.
Alternate Education and Experience: Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or closely related field of study and eight (8) years of experience as a Transmission Line Engineer, or role in civil engineering design firm where required experience gained. Professional Engineering (P.E.) License Required.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Also requires experience in the following:
• Transmission line and foundation design experience.
• Experience with using GIT, PyCharm, and Visual Studio IDE tools.
• Proficient in PLS-CADD software suite, LPile, APile, EnerCalc and FAD Tools
• Proficient in Structural Analysis Softwares: RISA-3D, RISA Connection, RISA Foundation, STAAD Pro, ABAQUS.
• Proficient in using drafting tools: AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Experience developing VBA code to communicate and transfer data from Excel to AutoCAD.
• Proficient in using Analytical tools including MathCAD, MATLAB, SAS V9.0, and Origin Lab.
• Microsoft Office Suite including writing VBA routines and developing Userforms.
• Proficient with Python Programming Language.
