Environmental Science Analyst

Kimley-Horn is looking for a Geologist with 2+ years of experience to join our Harrisburg, PA office! This is not a remote position. 

• The main goal of this position is to assist clients with complex environmental issues, including contamination assessments and remedial planning. 
• Specific job activities include, but are not limited to: Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, contamination assessments, remedial planning, compliance assistance and permitting.
  
• Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
• Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
• Travel required (approximately 50%).

• 2+ years relevant experience, including Phase I/II site assessments and site characterization 
• Bachelors or Masters Degree in relevant majors including Biology, Environmental Science, or related majors
• 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  
• Field work experience, including soil and groundwater sampling, aquifer test performance and analysis
• Experience using Surfer, LogPlot, RockWorks, AquiferWin32 and Groundwater Vistas is a plus
• Experience with Pennsylvania Act 2 Program is a plus
• Phase I/II environmental site assessments
• Possess strong technical writing skills and have knowledge writing detailed technical reports 
• Working knowledge and strong interest in ArcGIS Pro
• Desire to work in both an office environment and in the field
• Willingness and flexibility to travel for projects as needed
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
• Detail-oriented team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment
• Strong technical writing and organizational skills
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment as well as the ability to manage and prioritize several assignments concurrently and meet deadlines
