Overview

Kimley-Horn's Miami, Florida (FL) office is seeking a Structural/Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join their Structural team. This is not a remote position. The successful candidate will join a practice specializing in Forensic and Structural Engineering services.

Responsibilities

Candidates should have strong technical and analytical, detailing, communication and interpersonal skills and should be able to develop and maintain good relationships with coworkers, industry peers and clients.

  • Perform structural design calculations, prepare project document submittal packages, and maintain Quality Control for the entire project
  • Develop structural plans, details, and technical specifications
  • Conduct site investigations and structural evaluations
  • Document field observations and prepare technical reports
  • Perform construction observation
  • Support and participate in meetings and presentations with clients, owners, contractors, and design team members
  • Contribute to identifying project opportunities through networking with new and existing clients

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience with a civil engineering design firm   
  • Bachelors or Masters from an ABET accredited university in the field of Civil Engineering
  • "Engineer-In-Training" or "Engineering Intern" certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • Experience utilizing software programs for general structural analysis
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
