Overview

Kimley-Horn's Charlotte, North Carolina (NC) office is seeking an Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join their Energy & Natural Gas team!

Our engineers work alongside a full service, multidisciplinary team of professionals, working to deliver comprehensive engineering consulting to our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of engineers and designers on a variety of projects across energy and natural gas, including large pipeline design, control valve stations, power generation and process controls design. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our growing team and will have the opportunity to engage across markets and geographies.

 

This is not a remote position. Travel may be required to support design efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering design development and calculations on complex designs including:
    • Transmission & Distribution Pipeline Design
    • Metering and Regulation Stations
    • Remote Valve Sites
    • Regulatory Compliance
    • Natural Gas Generation & power plant design
    • Process Control Design and Integration
  • Produce construction drawings and details associated with multidisciplinary engineering projects.
  • Perform design work and engineering analyses
  • Jurisdictional Permitting and Agency Coordination
  • Assist in managing project progress, budgets, and schedules

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant engineering design experience
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including eCFR 49 Part 192 and ASME B31.8
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • Candidates should have experience within the Oil and Gas discipline including experience with design, permitting, and applicable software applications
  • Experience with task management, concept design, and assisting project management tasks
  • Familiar with coordinating with clients, attending client meetings, and overseeing quality standards
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and CADWORX
  • Ability to develop engineering design plan sets and other construction documents
  • Design experience that includes site layout, mechanical design, station work and permitting
