Overview

Kimley-Horn's Alpharetta, Georgia (GA) office is seeking an civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience in structural design or structural forensics to join their Vertical Building Structures team.

Responsibilities

  • • You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of project types, such as multifamily, mission critical facilities, office, mixed-use, hospitality and municipal.
    • Analyze and design structural members and systems in a variety of material types, including reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete, structural steel, wood, cold-formed metal framing and CMU.
    • Analyze and design both shallow and deep foundation systems.
    • Prepare structural plans, details and specifications for clients.
    • Participate in construction phase activities, such as review of shop drawings, response to inquiries from the construction team, and site visits.
    • As a critical member of the team, you will perform a variety of engineering tasks and will receive both on-the-job and formal training as well as mentorship and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions.

Qualifications

  • • 2+ years experience with a consulting/design engineering firm
    • Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university
    • "Engineer-In-Training" or "Engineering Intern" certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
    • Experience utilizing structural analysis/design software programs, such as ETABS, RAM Structural System, RAM Concept, RISA, EnerCalc, TEDDS
    • Experience utilizing REVIT
    • Strong ability to conceptualize in 3D space
    • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
    • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
    • Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
    • Ability to work independently and as a team
    • This is not a remote position.
