Kimley-Horn's Columbia, South Carolina (SC) Office is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Engineer to support the continued growth of our emerging W/WW practice. You’ll work alongside a senior team leader to deliver high-quality engineering solutions and play a key role in shaping the future of this growing team.

Design water transmission and distribution systems, pump stations, sewer conveyance, and water/wastewater treatment solutions
Assist in master planning, system modeling, and treatment plant expansions/rehabilitation
Take ownership of project tasks including permitting, construction coordination, and technical design
Collaborate with internal engineers, designers, and external clients to ensure successful project delivery
Produce and review high-quality plan sets and construction documents
Support project budgeting, scheduling, and client communication
Help mentor junior staff and contribute to building a strong local presence
Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements through coordination with government agencies
4+ years of experience in civil or environmental engineering with a focus on municipal water/wastewater projects
P.E. license or the ability to obtain one within 12 months
Hands-on experience in designing pipelines, pump stations, or treatment facilities
Familiarity with hydraulic modeling tools such as WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, or InfoWater
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and committed to high-quality work
Strong team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
Interest in helping grow a practice and build lasting client relationships
