Overview

Kimley-Horn's Saint Paul, Minnesota (MN) office is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their MEP team! 

Responsibilities

  • Support our Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing team specifically working on low- and medium-voltage design relative to new buildings, renovations, campuses, and electric vehicle charging
  • Lead the design and analysis of complex electrical systems for MEP projects
  • Daily interaction and collaboration on multi-disciplinary teams, with interaction across Kimley-Horn offices
  • Expected to assist in mentoring, training, and growing the electrical team to expand our MEP practice
  • Responsible for the development of design documents and reports, including electrical power and lighting layouts, equipment schematics and block diagrams, electrical system calculations and analyses, and one-line diagrams
  • Prepare project specifications, electrical construction cost estimates, and proposals, supporting the growth of electrical engineering service areas in the local market and across the country
  • Coordinate with specialists for fire alarm, technology and lighting design as required by project scope of work
  • Coordinate with architects, mechanical/plumbing engineers and other disciplines for equipment power needs and sizing of electrical distribution equipment

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • Experience mentoring and coordinating the work of EITs, designers, and other technical staff on various electrical or multi-discipline projects
  • Experience in low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical design, building and site lighting, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, microgrid, or data center designs
  • Experience in engineering project management, coordination, and multi-disciplinary team coordination
  • Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD
  • Experience in power system analysis using SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or equivalent
  • Experience in lighting design and photometric analysis using AGI32, Visual, or equivalent

Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000
