Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a Production/Operations Manager to join our Central Region in Dallas, Texas (TX).

Responsibilities

The Production/Operations Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing the activities of professional services within the Region by efficiently providing the necessary resources to ensure the profitable completion of projects while meeting contract scope, quality, cost and schedule requirements.

 

  • Support project managers in meeting contractual obligations and client commitments
  • Maintain effective staff utilization and ensure utilization goals are exceeded for exempt status employees
  • Partner with project managers and office managers to ensure that production staff is effectively utilized
  • Partner with project managers to implement project work planning and financial control on projects
  • Support project managers and office managers to ensure workforce planning is undertaken at all levels
  • Promote and implement quality assurance and quality control procedures with client servers
  • Assist Project managers in meeting client contract requirements with efficient use of resources
  • Assist in the management of risk exposure
  • Effectively communicate with production staff
  • Assist project managers in maintaining excellent client service

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree is required
  • 10 or more years of operations, project, and/or production management experience within the professional servies field
  • Understanding, knowledge and focus on the essential elements of production management
  • Willingness to partner with practice to solve other’s problems
  • Ability to motivate and give confidence to others
  • Decisiveness – willing to take responsibility and risk
  • Ability to use logic to solve technical problems on multiple issues at same time
  • Ability to communicate well
  • Sense of urgency/high expectation of others
  • Strong project management skills
  • Previous experience in electrical consulting, design and/or power delivery is a plus
