Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for a Safety Coordinator to join the corporate Human Resources team in our Raleigh, North Carolina office.

 

This position is part of the HR Operations team and will support the team on various projects, focusing specifically on Safety initiatives. The ideal candidate brings task management experience and a passion for organization, efficiency, and multi-tasking.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Safety and Security Specialist to develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures and programs
  • Assist with firmwide safety and security incidents that unexpectedly arise, ensuring appropriate actions are taken to mitigate risks
  • Manage programs such as AED/Fire Extinguisher/Fleet Maintenance, Duress Button, and Evacuation plans, ensuring appropriate training and audits are completed
  • Co-lead system management of our Safety platform
  • Partner with teammates to answer day-to-day questions across a variety of programs and subject areas
  • Research topical issues and provide recommended approaches
  • Run quarterly and annual reports and update OSHA log; assign and track OSHA 10-hour training courses for field employees across the firm
  • Create, proofread, and maintain guidance documents internally, as well as our safety documentation on 3rd party sites such as ISNetworld and Avetta
  • Complete Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) section on client “Requests for Proposals”
  • Follow up with vendors on escalated issues
  • Assign various training courses and track completion
  • Assist with the preparation & coordination of training sessions and events, including putting together training presentations and presenting safety training material
  • Support teammates on a variety of requests and special projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Environmental Science, or related field
  • Experience in a health or safety related field and/or Cal/OSHA is a plus
  • Capable balancing multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Positive team player with a commitment to quality
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to respond quickly and efficiently to requests for assistance
  • Visibility of work requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
