Kimley-Horn's Nashville, Tennessee (TN) office is seeking an Experienced Electrical Engineer or Analyst with 3+ years of experience to join their Electrical Engineering team!
• Lead the design of electrical systems including water/waste water pump design, electric vehicle infrastructure, renewable energy, and backup generator systems.
• Responsible for electrical system calculations such as panel schedules, voltage drop, conductor sizing, conductor derating, conduit fill, and short circuit calculations.
• Responsible for the development of design documents and reports, including electrical layouts, equipment schematics, details, and one-line diagrams.
• Manage ongoing utility coordination to secure site power, communicate design load requirements, incorporate utility construction detail requirements into design drawings, maintain deliverable tracking spreadsheet, etc.
• Daily interaction and collaboration on multi-disciplinary teams, with interaction across Kimley-Horn offices
• Prepare project specifications, proposals, and support the growth of electrical engineering service areas in the local market and across the country
• Expected to assist in mentoring, training, and growing a team to expand our Electrical Engineering practice
• 3+ years experience in an Electrical Engineering role
• Engineer In Training certification (EIT) (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Understanding of the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, IEEE and ANSI Standards
• Willingness to travel to support site visits and client meetings, as needed
• Ability to work in a team; both collaborating with and mentoring junior staff
Preferred:
o Experience in engineering project management
o Proficiency in AutoCAD
o Experience in power system analysis using SKM, ETAP, or equivalent
