Product Owner

Kimley-Horn is seeking a passionate and highly skilled Product Owner to join our Technology Solutions team. As a Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in the software development process by ensuring that business needs are clearly understood and translated into actionable requirements. You will be a bridge across business, sales, marketing, development, and practice stakeholders, facilitating communication and collaboration to deliver high-quality software products. Your responsibilities will include the product vision, maintaining the product backlog, and ensuring the delivery of value to the end-users. This is a highly cross-functional role with great opportunity to expand Kimley-Horn’s software business in its next stages of growth.

This is an in office position.

• Define and communicate the product vision, value, strategy, and roadmap
• Monitor product financials and metrics against goals and budget
• Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder needs
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria
• Develop process flows, and other documentation to support the development and implementation of software features and solutions
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and focus groups to elicit requirements and gain a deep understanding of stakeholder needs
• Coordinate with marketing, sales, and UX/UI to identify market research, user feedback, and business needs
• Provide support and timely communication to stakeholders, including marketing and sales teams, to ensure successful go-to-market strategies and customer adoption of new software features and solutions
• Participate in product launches including demonstrations and presentations to effectively communicate the features, benefits, and value proposition of our solutions

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of relevant experience in a product owner or business analyst role
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile team
• Self-starter and excellent time management and prioritization skills
• Experience leading teams and mentoring staff
• Effective communicator with emotional intelligence
• Experience working in and communicating about modern SaaS technical solutions
• Ability to clearly convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and prospective clients
• Ability to forge strong relationships with clients, partners, and within the team

Preferred:

• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification
• Familiarity with UX/UI design principles
• Familiarity with Design Thinking and Human-Centered Design principles
• Lean or Six Sigma certification
