Overview

We are looking for an experienced Instructional Design Team Manager to oversee the development and implementation of our training programs. The candidate will lead and partner with a team of instructional designers to create learning experiences across various formats, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and learner needs.  This will be out of our Raleigh, North Carolina Office!  This is not a remote position. 

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership (approx. 50%): Manage and mentor a team of instructional designers, assign projects, provide guidance, maintain quality, oversee project timelines, and contribute to business planning processes and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery of training programs. Foster a collaborative environment and facilitate team processes and growth.
  • Instructional Design Project Ownership (30%)
    • Strategize overall needs and helping with project management.
    • Needs Analysis: Conduct training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and prioritize learning objectives for new and existing employee training programs.
    • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and develop comprehensive training curricula, including course outlines, learning objectives, and assessment strategies.
    • Content Creation: Develop and oversee the creation of learning materials such as eLearning modules, presentations, videos, and job aids, utilizing appropriate instructional design methodologies.
    • Quality Assurance: Review and approve training materials to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards.
    • Technology Integration: Implement appropriate instructional technology tools to enhance the learning experience.
    • Performance Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through post-training assessments, learner feedback, and performance data analysis.
    • Support other instructional design team activities as needed.
  • Stakeholder Management (10%): Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure training aligns with business needs and objectives.
  • Collaborate with departmental partners (10%).

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education Technology, or a related field.
  • 9+ years of instructional design experience in a business environment.
  • Proven experience managing a team of instructional designers.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Strong project management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
  • Proficient in instructional systems design, including needs and task analysis, andragogical theory, and assessment strategies.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends to improve training methodologies.
  • Proficiency with authoring tools like Articulate 360, learning management systems, and relevant technology platforms.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Conduct training needs analysis and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure course design quality and support quality standards.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Flexibility in adapting to a fast-changing environment to meet the needs of internal clients and the priorities of the organization.
  • Travel up to 10%.
