Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for an Experienced Finance Process Improvement Lead to join our Raleigh, North Carolina (NC) office! This is not a remote position. 

Responsibilities

The Process Improvement Lead will have a strong background in finance and process improvement and is focused on driving transformation through automation, standardization, and simplification of processes across financial operations. Your ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and collaborate with various departments will be key to your success in this role. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Work with finance and cross-functional teams to identify areas for process improvement and, where possible, end to end automated solutions 
  • Collaborate with process owners and subject matter experts to document current and future state end-to-end processes, identify gaps and interdependencies, and design scalable improvement solutions 
  • Develop business cases, project work plans, and lead cross-functional teams for prioritized process improvement projects 
  • Act as a liaison between the Finance and IT teams to ensure business requirements are captured, built, and tested and will meet the business goals of the Finance team 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders 
  • Monitor and report on the progress of finance transformation projects. 
  • Ability to learn capabilities of new software and constantly seek opportunities to better use and leverage available technology
  • Assist with troubleshooting and maintenance of process improvement solutions 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field 
  • 3+ years of applicable experience in finance transformation, consulting, or related roles 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent client service skills including vetting initial request through problem resolution 
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and procedures in a complex business environment 
  • Confident self-starter who pays close attention to detail while working in an engaging, fast-paced environment 
  • Outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing requirements 
  • Ability to work in teams, manage projects and multitask 
  • Professional demeanor and ability to display a positive professional attitude 
  • Solid understanding of finance and accounting functions 
  • Experience with creating Process Design Documents and Process Documentation Software is a plus 
  • Experience with Uipath, Microsoft Power Automate, Deltek Costpoint, Deltek Time and Expense, Concur, SQL, or Cognos is a plus
