Overview

Kimley-Horn is seeking a dynamic Project Manager to join our Oakland office. We are looking for candidates with 4-8 years of experience in research, analysis, strategy, and planning within the energy and zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) sectors. You will be involved in a variety of impactful projects including the development of local and regional plans for EV charging infrastructure, hydrogen refueling stations, energy efficiency and conservation strategies, and infrastructure siting. This is an in-office/in-person role, offering you the opportunity to collaborate closely with our talented team.

Responsibilities

Applicants should be able to demonstrate their experience with research, analysis, and preparing reports and presentations on clean energy and/or clean transportation for clients. At minimum, applicants should have experience with:

  • Project management and task management
  • Leading all aspects of project planning, scoping, and budgeting with support from senior staff
  • Developing budgets and managing/tracking budgets during project delivery
  • Communicating, working, and building trust with clients
  • Distilling key points from large volumes of information (via literature review, etc.)
  • Analyzing data and writing reports
  • Working independently and effectively managing time/prioritizing tasks
  • Thinking critically and creatively to identify and address potential challenges before they occur
  • Using GIS tools to analyze data and generate maps
  • Supporting grant application development
  • Collaborating with colleagues across a range of disciplines
  • Interacting with the public as part of project outreach activities
  • Managing junior members of the team

Qualifications

  • Deep commitment to delivering outstanding client service
  • At least 4 years of experience in energy or Zero Emissions Vehicles (ZEV)
  • Extensive knowledge of planning principles for clean energy and transportation
  • Proficiency in creating ESRI maps using publicly available datasets (e.g., Census) and conducting analysis
  • Proven experience in project management
  • Exceptional organizational abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Energetic, self-driven, and team-oriented
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and work with various project managers

Salary Range:

$110,000 to $145,000
