Position Overview

As a Senior Power Delivery Engineer at Kimley-Horn, you will be at the forefront of designing and analyzing complex electrical systems that power the future. From renewable generation and energy storage to utility-scale substations, you'll be responsible for leading the design and development of projects that make a tangible impact. You will play a critical role in developing technical solutions, managing projects, and supporting the growth of our Power Delivery practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design and analysis for complex electrical systems in renewable generation, energy storage, and utility-scale substation projects.
  • Develop and review design documents and reports, including electrical layouts, equipment schematics, block diagrams, system calculations, and one-line diagrams.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, coordinating across Kimley-Horn offices to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Prepare project specifications, electrical construction cost estimates, and proposals to support business development and growth of the Power Delivery service area.
  • Take the lead in business development efforts, focusing on the growth of our Power Delivery practice in the local market and beyond.
  • Manage projects profitably, ensuring the successful delivery of electrical engineering projects while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Mentor and lead teams, providing guidance to junior engineers and fostering a collaborative, positive work environment.
  • Grow and lead the Power Delivery practice, helping to establish goals, strategy, and vision for continued success.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience managing Electrical projects
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Firm understanding of the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, IEEE and ANSI Standards

  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to manage and mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $140,000 – $200,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Bonus Program: Eligible for performance-based incentives
