Overview

Kimley-Horn is seeking a dynamic and driven Transportation Engineer/Planner to join our Santa Clarita office. This role offers the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of projects across different counties. Our ideal candidate is a problem solver who can take on projects and run with them while maintaining exceptional client service and mentoring younger staff.

Responsibilities

  • Traffic Engineering & Signal Operations: Manage traffic signal timing, operations, and design.
  • Traffic & ITS Design: Involve in traditional traffic design and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects.
  • Planning & Safety: Conduct corridor planning, complete streets projects with a focus on safety, including active transportation plans, and bike and pedestrian design.
  • Project Diversity: Engage in a broad range of projects to avoid specialization in one area and to ensure involvement in capital improvement projects.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in transportation engineering or related field.
  • Holds California Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Proven experience in traffic engineering, planning, and design with the ability to manage complex projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative.
  • Ability to win work, be client-facing, and pursue new opportunities.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing junior staff.
  • Strong technical skills in transportation engineering and planning.

Salary Range:

$120,000 - $150,000
