Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for Archeology students to join our Riverside, CA office! This is not a remote position. 

 

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate has had some exposure to supporting tribal, public, and private conducting site inventory surveys, site conditions assessments, and site eligibility evaluations, as well as cultural resources site records and technical studies pursuant to applicable state and federal environmental and historic preservation law, such as the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and/or Section 106 of the National Preservation Act (NHPA).

 

This role will consist of supporting and/or engaging in Tribal consultation and public outreach. The candidate will gain experience in conducting peer reviews of cultural resources technical reports, as well as applicable related chapters in environmental documents (i.e. EIRs, EISs, Land Use Plans, etc.)

 

Additional responsibilities are:

  • Support in solving complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across teams to produce our clients' visions for the future built environment.
  • Work alongside project managers who support tribal, public, and private-sector clients as they navigate cultural resource management requirements under state and federal environmental and historic preservation law.

 

Qualifications

  • In the process of receiving a Bachelors in Archeology with field school experience OR in the process of receiving a Masters Degree in Archeology or closely related field (e.i. Anthropology) from an accredited program.
  • Completion of the archeology field school is desired but not required for students earning a Masters degree.

Hourly Range: $25 - 27
