Overview

Kimley-Horn's Oakland office is seeking a Transporation Planner with 8+ years of experience to join their Transit team! We are in-office/in-person.

Responsibilities

  • The selected candidate will contribute to the marketing, management, and production of transportation and transit planning projects, which may include active transportation plans, corridor studies, safety studies, transit plans, and circulation plans.
  • Various tasks may include short- and long-range transportation planning, overseeing public and stakeholder outreach activities, and technical analysis.
  • This role will require a high degree of multi-disciplinary coordination.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are critical.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, City or Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • Self-motivated team player
  • 8+ years of transportation-focused planning experience, which may include several of the following areas:
    • Corridor Planning
    • General Plans, Specific Plans, or Precise Plans
    • Short-Range Transit Plans
    • Active Transportaiton Plans
    • Mulitmodal Concept Design
    • Transit Opereations and Performance Analysis
    • Traffic and Bicycle/Pedestrian Analysis
  • Proficiency in analysis of transportation data
  • Experience communicating and working with clients
  • Experience managing projects and tasks
  • Experience interacting with the public as part of project outreach activities
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-orientation
  • Ability to balance priorities among multiple projects 

Salary Range: $120,000 to $165,000
