Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for a CAD Operator/Technician to join our Aviation team in Saint Paul, Minnesota (MN)! You will learn best practices for creating professional presentation graphics of concept designs for clear communication of design intent. As your experience develops, your knowledge will eventually lead to your own planning and design efforts and to independently support aviation and parking planning staff and clients.

Responsibilities

As a valuable addition to our team, you will work directly with the Senior Design Associate to solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate with partners to communicate our clients’ visions for the future built environment.

 

With guidance, you will create supporting designs and graphics for a multitude of aviation planning projects, specifically airport landside functions that include passenger terminal curbside, commercial curbside, ground transportation centers, parking facilities, consolidated rental car facilities, access roadways, wayfinding and other functions supporting landside operations.

 

You will also create supporting designs and graphics for parking facilities for both municipalities and private entities including rightsizing, functional design, and wayfinding.

 

As your experience grows, it is expected you will produce your own conceptual design and layout efforts for collaboration with the design team and client.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Architectural Drafting/Technology or related required
  • Working knowledge and experience with AutoCAD, Revit; new grads will be considered
  • Experience with GIS, InfraWorks and/or InDesign a plus
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Premier, After Effects and SketchUp is desired but you will receive training for these tools
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Attention to details and ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Clear sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines while providing consistent quality and accuracy
  • Professional demeanor with a positive, solution-seeking attitude and a high sense of personal responsibility

Salary Range: $55,000 - $80,000
