Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for a highly experienced CAD Coordinator to join and help lead our firmwide Autodesk applications team in our Richardson, TX office. This is an in-office role.

Responsibilities

  • The qualified individual will keep software updated, provide training, maintain CAD standards, and lead local and regional CAD Coordinators
  • Keep core Autodesk applications (Civil 3D, ACC) and related applications (Autoturn, LandFX, etc.) up and running for 6000+ people
  • Maintain and improve firm CAD content, including templates, pipe catalogs, and libraries
  • Improve and maintain Civil 3D setup, including CUIs, profiles, and other support files
  • Train the trainer by instructing local and regional CAD Coordinators to train end users
  • Provide in-person and virtual training to production teams
  • Create and manage on-demand training and best practices content
  • Direct Kimley-Horn technical support on proper techniques for support production teams in use of Civil 3D and AutoCAD
  • Assist in troubleshooting and then communicating issues and maintenance updates to users, leadership, and IT partners
  • Represent Kimley-Horn by partnering with Autodesk to improve software

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree related to engineering or design technologies
  • 10+ years’ advanced experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • 8+ years’ production experience in civil infrastructure industry
  • 5+ years’ experience in CAD management and Civil 3D backend
  • Experience with CAD template creation and maintenance
  • Experience with Civil 3D pipe catalog creation and editing
  • Experience with AutoCAD block creation
  • 10+ years’ advanced knowledge of and experience with all core Civil 3D toolsets
  • Alignments and profiles
  • Gravity and pressure pipe networks
  • Grading, including feature lines, corridors and surfaces
  • Plan production, cross sections, and Sheet set manager
  • Survey databases and points
  • Demonstrated ability to train and present in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, both in-person and virtually
  • Effective communication skills
  • Effective task and project management skills
