Overview

Kimley-Horn is currently seeking a Civil Engineer with a minimum of 4 years of experience to join our Transit team in the Bay Area (specifically Oakland, Pleasanton, San Jose, and San Mateo). This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

  • The selected candidate will contribute to the production and delivery of transit and rail/track design projects with a particular focus on, but not limited to Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT) projects.
  • Various tasks may include corridor concept development, assistance in public outreach, and transit evaluation.
  • This role will require a high degree of multi-disciplinary coordination.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are critical.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • Outgoing, self-motivated team player
  • 4+ years of transit-focused engineering experience including:
    • Transit corridor design experience, focused on (but not limited to) BRT and LRT modes
    • Track/guideway design
    • Roadway design
    • Station design, including park-and-ride facilities
  •  Outgoing, self-motivated team player
  • High level of proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience communicating and working with clients
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills and detail-orientation
  • Ability to balance priorities among multiple projects

Salary Range: 

$125,000 - $185,000
