Overview

Kimley-Horn's Phoenix, AZ office is seeking a Project Manager with 5+ years of experience to build a Cultural Resources Practice in the Southwest Region! This position will require a combination of office and field work.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all phases of archaeological fieldwork, site conditions assessments, and site eligibility evaluations
  • Preparation of cultural resources site records, work plans, and technical studies pursuant to applicable state and federal environmental and historic preservation law
  • Assist in Specific Plans, Master Plans, and other environmental or planning policy documents in support of a full range of infill and/or land development related projects
  • Perform a variety of tasks, supporting various project managers and collaborating with team members.
  • Support Tribal consultation and public outreach
  • Working with infrastructure projects from across industries such as transportation, transit, land planning, aviation

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field
  • 5+ years of experience conducting cultural resources survey, testing, and data recovery, as well as conducting site condition assessments and site eligibility evaluations
  • 3+ years of experience preparing and reviewing treatment/data recovery plans and cultural resources technical studies prepared pursuant to NEPA/NHPA
  • 2+ years of experience managing projects and field teams for cultural resources-based projects
  • Must meet requirements for various agency Archaeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA) permits
  • Must meet requirements for access to confidential archaeological information housed within AZSITE, ASM, and other repositories
  • Must meet Secretary of Interior (SOI) Professional Qualifications in Archaeology
  • Experience preparing project proposals, scopes of work, etc
  • Experience with various digital tools, such as SmartSheet, ArcGIS Pro, etc., is desired
  • Must follow safety protocols and be able to work in outdoor field conditions, lift field equipment (i.e. auger, shovels, post-hole digger, shaker screen, etc.), and safely operate a 4WD vehicle on rugged, remote roads
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude and a strong work ethic
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Must be able to pass a background check and have a clean driving record
