Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for an Environmental Scientist with 4+ years of experience to join our Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (PA) office! This is not a remote position. 

Responsibilities

  • Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
  • Attend meetings and communicate with clients, government entities, and various regulatory agencies to fulfill any regulations and requirements relating to projects
  • This is an exciting opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team on a variety of projects
  • You will flourish on both building meaningful internal and external professional relationships
  • You will work closely and collaboratively with other industry leading professionals, various jurisdictions, and contractors
  • Travel for fieldwork will be required (approximately 40%).

Qualifications

  • 4+ years relevant experience, including wetland delineation, state and federal wetland and species permitting
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in relevant majors including Biology, Environmental Science, or related majors
  • Ecological field work experience, including ability to lead wetland delineations
  • Possess strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Working knowledge and strong interest in ArcGIS
  • Experience working directly with clients and regulators
  • Desire to work in both an office environment and in the field
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel for projects and spend long days in the field as needed
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Desire to provide exceptional client service
  • The ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced work environment as well as the ability to manage and prioritize several assignments concurrently to meet deadlines
  • WPIT or PWS certification is a plus
