Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and licensed Roadway Engineer to join our team in San Diego. As a Roadway Engineer, you will be responsible for working on various highway and roadway projects in the San Diego area. This is a part-time, on-call position requiring a minimum of 8 years of experience and a Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team of engineers and professionals to design, plan, and develop roadway and highway projects in San Diego.
  • Prepare engineering designs, calculations, and specifications for roadway and highway projects.
  • Perform traffic analysis, including capacity analysis, traffic impact studies, and intersection design.
  • Develop and review construction plans, cost estimates, and project schedules.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines, such as structural and geotechnical engineers, to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of engineering documents and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staff members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in roadway and highway engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of California.
  • Strong knowledge of roadway design principles, standards, and codes.
  • Proficiency in using engineering design software, such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Civil 3D.
  • Experience with traffic analysis software, such as Synchro, VISSIM, or HCS.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with local San Diego roadway design guidelines and standards is preferred.

Salary Range: $115,000 to $165,000
