Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Construction Manager to oversee a large Rail project in Alexandria, Virginia.

Responsibilities

  • Support management of Rail project.
  • Support design phase with constructability reviews, scheduling, reviewing opinions of probable cost, and construction phasing.
  • Act as Construction Manager overseeing the activities of project field oversight staff.
  • Monitor contractors’ work for compliance to schedule, Budget, Technical Specifications, and Legal Requirements.
  • Attend progress meetings and reports on project status.
  • Support resolution of design and field construction problems.
  • Support design and field changes.
  • Review contractor requests for change and, when appropriate, assist in the preparation of contract change orders/modifications.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of relevant experience managing rail projects
  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage & mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
  • Demonstrated ability to manage rail projects profitably
