Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior MEP Practice Builder with a strong healthcare focus to expand our MEP practice in Seattle, WA!

Responsibilities

  • Project Management role is in conjunction with lead engineer responsibilities.
  • Requires the ability to oversee the MEP design of projects from concept to completion, including continuous interface with the design team and clients.
  • Proven design experience with comfort and MEP systems and related controls
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and critical thinking ability
  • Write responses to Requests for Proposals and Requests for Qualifications for various clients and marketing opportunities
  • Ability to work individually or in a multi-discipline team
  • Mentor and coordinate the work of designers and other technical staff on various mechanical or multi-discipline projects
  • Manage and deliver tasks under minimal supervision and guidance
  • Strong desire to grow and lead a MEP practice
  • Our Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor
  • The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of related experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Proven design experience with comfort and MEP systems and related controls
  • Proven design experience with plumbing systems including water, sewer, and gas
  • Experience producing engineering and energy studies including comcheck, Title 24
  • Experience mentoring and coordinating the work of EITs, designers, and other technical staff on various mechanical or multi-discipline projects
  • Able to manage and deliver tasks under minimal supervision and guidance
  • Experience in AutoCAD and Revit is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and critical thinking ability
  • Ability to work individually or in a multi-discipline team

Base Salary Range: 

  • $140,000 - $200,000
  • Eligible for performance-based bonus compensation
