Overview

Our Williamsburg, VA office is seeking a Surface Water Practice Builder / Senior Project Manager.

Responsibilities

  • You will have the autonomy to shape your practice and lead business development efforts with local developers, public agencies and industry contacts while building and managing your relationship with these key clients
  • The primary responsibilities for this position will be to operate with integrity and sound business principals; providing surface water practice vision, business planning and strategy; serve clients directly and deliver for clients; establish goals; building and maintaining positive client relationships; having open communication with your partners and team; and growing and leading your practice

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources or Environmental Engineeing required
  • Professional Certification as a P.E. in Virginia
  • 12+ years of diversified drainage experience in growing and leading a public or private sector practice in the Hampton Roads market and the Peninsula 
  • Business development and marketing experience including; writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets, and schedule for completion, for projected work 
  • History of providing technical design and modeling in the areas of stormwater planning and design
  • Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems and working with the team to deliver 
  • Prior experience and understanding of typical storm water hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software programs and ability to mentor and teach others
  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines
  • Solid technical writing and communication skills
