Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for an experienced Environmental Engineer or Specialist with 4+ year of experience preparing NEPA documentation for roadway, pedestrian, and transit projects.

Responsibilities

The qualified candidate will have experience completing environmental documentation in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Primary responsibilities will include conducting appropriate technical analysis and preparing environmental documents under the direction of senior staff for roadway, pedestrian, and transit projects. Preferred but not required experience could also include supporting and leading public and agency engagement efforts such as facilitating in-person and/or virtual meetings, and creating and editing presentations, fact sheets, online content, and other similar communication and engagement materials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited university in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Planning, Environmental Science or similar.
  • If an Engineer, candidate must have their P.E. license or the ability to obtain it within 6 months of employment.
  • 4 or more years of NEPA environmental documentation experience 
  • Experience preparing technical documents related to environmental impacts and translating technical information into public-friendly documents
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Commitment to producing high quality work, with an emphasis on attention to detail
  • Experience with ArcGIS
  • Self-motivated team player
  • Ability to work with and balance priorities among multiple projects and provide clear direction to other team members  
  • Flexibility to travel to other cities and office locations as needed for projects
