Responsibilities

Our Senior Transit Project Managers have an entrepreneurial spirit, creating a vision for their Transit practice while facilitating the growth of our Atlanta Midtown office and Southern US-based transit practice. Kimley-Horn’s transit practice is engaged in the planning, design, and implementation of transit services and facilities throughout the country.  Our specific focus in Atlanta is working with MARTA, the ATL, and other local transit providers to envision, study, plan, design, engineer, manage, and implement new services, service expansions, and service/technology enhancements.

 

As a Kimley-Horn transit professional, you will have the autonomy to shape your practice building and managing relationships with these key clients while executing successful planning, design, and implementation efforts. Markets are not limited by geography but driven by relationships. The primary responsibilities for this position will be to operate with integrity and sound business principals; provide practice vision, business planning and strategy; serve and deliver for clients; build and maintain positive client relationships; foster open communication and collaboration with your partners and team; and grow your practice.  You will also be provided the support of a national firm to build your team and Transit practice to increasingly serve your clients and team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Planning preferred
  • Professional Certification as a P.E., or AICP preferred
  • Experience with extensive client contacts and relationships with local or national clients.  
  • 8 or more years of Transit experience in growing and leading a Transit practice
  • Experience and relationships in the Atlanta market strongly preferred  
  • Business development and marketing experience including; writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected work 
  • Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems and working with the team to deliver 
  • Extensive hands-on knowledge and experience of design principals utilizing Civil3D or Microstation preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization. 
  • Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive manner. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably. 
  • Strong desire to help build and grow the office.
